A tree broken in two
Sharing its roots
Feeding off another.
A tree split in two
Separated at birth
By god or by will
The choice unknown.
A tree cracked in two
Chunks of bark gone from the midpoint,
Taken by squirrels
Seeking for shelter
Hiding from rain
Like teenagers from the sun.
A tree snapped in two
Separate but together
A force of nature.
