In a world consumed by the allure of social media,

Where likes and followers reign supreme,

I too have fallen victim to its superficial nature,

But hold fast to the belief that my true self  lies beyond its gleam.

I refuse to conform to the staged photo ops,

And the filtered selfies that hide our flaws,

For my authenticity cannot be captured in a single shot,

But it is found in the rhythm of my drums, a true reflection of my innermost thoughts.

My compositions, sharp and scratching,

Melodious and melancholy,

Speak of a personal evolution,

That words alone could never fully embody.

My drums are my sanctuary,

A place where I can freely express

The deepest parts of my being,

Without fear of judgment or distress.

My compositions are devoid of the need to please others

For they exist solely for my own benefit

A reflection of my immutable connection

To a secret truth that even I cannot fully comprehend

In the midst of the chaos and noise,

My drums provide a sense of solace,

Teaching me patience, discipline, and hard work,

Reminding me that progress takes time and effort.

From childhood to adolescence,

I have grown and evolved,

And the music that flows from my fingertips,

Is a testament to the challenges and triumphs that have shaped me.

As I stand on the cusp of adulthood,

I see a reflection of an ever-changing soul,

Constantly striving to convey authenticity,

Honesty, and vulnerability as a whole.

Each note I play is a story,

A reflection of my passions, values, and dreams,

A record of my dedication, passion, and determination,

And a testament to my journey of self-discovery, or so it seems.

My drums are more than just an instrument,

They are a vessel for my soul,

A medium for my growth and aspirations,

And a constant reminder to never stop reaching for my goals.

What can I say, I'm a drummer until the end.
