Dear Fall
Dear Fall,
How stubborn you are!
I’m trying to grasp the last bits and pieces
Of a dying Summer,
But she was always your enemy,
And you won’t let her linger any longer.
Your presence makes me want to curl up on the couch
With a cup of warm cider between my hands
While I watch Gilmore Girls.
Yes, Fall, I know your arrival means the start of another school year,
But I hardly mind,
Because that also means football games and homecoming
And sweater weather and haunted hayrides.
So, Fall, can you stay a little longer this year,
Perhaps till December?
Cause I love everything about you (nearly),
And I really don’t enjoy Winter’s snowstorms.
Sincerely,
The girl who loves fall
