Nightscape
Daybreak hit us without notice
Glazing our skin with it’s midas touch
Putting our shared anticipation to an end
And gifting us virtue
Although the aroma of the night was still stained in our clothes
We felt the faint smiles to creep onto our faces
As serenity infiltrated our minds
Arms tucked under one another
Heads resting on someone's shoulder
We laid still as the wind drew circles around us
In a shared moment like this
Not a taxing thought
Or gleam too bright
Could chase away the peace we gained
As we were freed from the night
