They crash on me,
splashing the sea-water
on the dry sand,
breathing life
on the dry land.
They are comforting
to the dolphins,
riding on the open sea,
reminding them,
they are not alone.
They are also helpers
carrying algae across
the vast ocean.
Waves : they breathe life
on the dry sand.
Waves : they breathe
life in everything.

This piece was inspired by one of my trips to the beach, in this case to the Puri Beach in Bhubaneshwar, India in 2022. The experience overwhelmed me in every sense and inspired me to write about it.
