Memories
Memories are precious things to hold onto and to treasure
Through the good times and the bad they stick with you forever
Sometimes they can help, and sometimes they just hurt
But even words don't well describe what memories are worth
Your memories are a part of you
And of all the things you go through
It's how you remember those you've loved and those you've lost
It's how you remember your choices and their costs
Good things and bad things, failure, success, family and friends
The running train of memories doesn't seem to end
No, as long as your alive your memories continue to build
Nourished by your hope and fear like rain on a field
And remember when it seems like the best thing you have is ending
And the tears streaming from your eyes are the only emotion pending
Your heart is breaking
There's no faking
The hurt tearing you apart
And swelling in your heart
Just take a breath and breathe
Hold tight against your knees
Lean against someone you trust and enjoy the time you have left
Be grateful for what you have and don't focus on the rest
Hold tight to hope for the future as you struggle through
And don't forget you have your memories to forever stick with you

I've loved and lost things so many times. And it can really hurt... Sometimes it feels like the whole earth just got torn from underneath your feet, and you have nothing to hold onto, cause it feels like the future can't possibly look up. When you can't get past that, sometimes it helps to look back, and hold onto what you had. And just remember the memories you had, and sometimes, that helps you feel hopeful to push past that.
