The Ending
The beats echo around me,
and through the surface breaks a magnificent bird.
It takes off, wings glinting a fiery golden blue.
The beats echo around me,
and through the clouds my bird returns.
But, he brings with him the unexpected,
the unknown, and the unwanted.
He brings my nightmares.
The beats echo around me,
and through the impending darkness
I see the changing green eyes search,
they search for whatever else my secret fears may hold.
The beats echo around me,
and through the mist I gaze,
blue eyes piercing black.
My nightmares come at me, taunting me from every angle and reminding me of what I wished to leave behind.
The beats echo around me,
and they crescendo, splitting the ground at my feet.
The giant cavern that my nightmares built for me has finally surfaced,
I can't run, can't climb, can't jump....
I can only sit here, hunched, while they surround me for the final moment-
the moment coming where everything ends!
