Regretted Memories
Childhood memories swept away
 Wave goodbye to each one
Hug and say you’ll see them soon
But you know that’s never true

 They’ll meet new people, friends,
 And then memories
 You’re forgotten
And their memory is replaced by that new best friend of theirs

 And your memories are replaced
 By bitterness and loathsome
 Regret and hurt
And anguish for all the time lost for them

 Again… and again…
Until there’s nothing left to remember
