Mastermind
You push me to the edge
 and pull me back again;
 you tie me up in knots,
 never letting go.
 I can’t get enough.
 You’re my addicting drug.
 You’re smile makes me high;
 you’re voice gives me that rush.
 I can’t escape your grasp. I can’t stop
 falling back
 into the same droning existence.
 Every time you hurt me,
 every time you make me cry,
 I try not to forgive you;
 I try to forget about you, but,
 somehow, I come running back,
 only to trip and skin my knee again
 because you are the mastermind
 behind my pain.
