Summer Moon
The mist from the ocean crashes along shore,
Nothing left but a shovel and a bucket.
The wind violently blows sand along the dock,
Footprints slowly fade away where the children play
The night is cool and the crickets are singing.
The children’s songs are carried through the waves.
Soft lights move the shadows of memories.
The stars smile throughout the night
And the summer moon is happiness that shines
Knowing it will come back next summer.
