My Dad
I ask, where’s my dad, mom?
Her answer hit me like a bomb.
I cried my little heart out.
What could this be about?
Why did we have to leave?
We had to go, yes I believe.
He hurt you, and that’s bad.
I can’t help, but to feel mad.
When he raised his hand,
You finally took a stand.
She took me away.
We were gone without his say.
All I know is his name.
For that, he has himself to blame.
He was never around to see me grow.
If he cares, I don’t know.
The times I think about him are few.
Because mom, I know I still have you.
So don’t worry about me.
I’m still happy as can be.
