Ode to a Friend
My tears of you
brought me
strength.
The pain of you
gave me
emotion.
The thought of you
made me
smile.
We both thought
meeting each other
was the worst
.
Only because
it brought
headaches
tears
frustrations
and friendly love.
I wanted to run away
so many
times.
But I cared too much
too thankful.
I've grown much
thanks to you.
Even when you were not here
I thought about what you've said.
I've taken it in
and I
used it.
I was a
plate of jello
Swaying with
others.
Now though
because of you
I sway with myself.
You taught me how to support someone
You told me it was okay
And I returned the favor.
Though we never met
I still hold you as one of my greatest friends.
