And the Wrinkles Told it All
I saw an old man in a store today
And there were tears in his eyes
His face a canvas
His life painted on
And the wrinkles showed it all
He hade a plate set next to him
There was a napkin, fork, and knife
But there was noone sitting next to him
And the wrinkles grew
He fought the pain and hurt away
He let it fill inside
But on his face his life displayed
And the wrinkles told it all
He unfolded his hand next to him
Expecting a hand to hold
But she was not there next to him
And the fine lines were not so fine
His face but a blur
Two eys inside many hollow folds
His life foretold
And she was not there for him to hold
