We can make it!
You’re moving on to bigger things
You’re leaving that world behind
Driving away from the place you called home
You don’t know when you will return
They say college is a different lifestyle then high school
Well no duh, you’re on your own
The worst part is that you’re on your own
Away from everything and everyone
High school was sweet to us
We saw each other every day
The occasional vacation took us apart for a week
But not this long…
But I’m going to hold on
I will not give you up so easily
People can prevail and we will
I know we will, just hold on!
I’m only crying because life just isn’t fair
A phrase I hate saying and I hate hearing
Because its unhappy news that just happens to be true
And because life is not in our control, it’s all in fate’s hands
But fate lets us choose our actions
So I’m going to make every hour we find special
Every phone call a great conversation
Every email, Facebook message, or text will be perfect
Growing up does not mean growing apart
It doesn’t have to be the end
I’m not that far from the same thing
So wait for me
Take me with you in your heart
And I will always be there.
