Empathetic Words
Are all the words that leave your lips true?
Or are they all lies?
How do you expect to make it in this world,
Wearing that disguise?
You tell me our love was true,
But I know it was not real.
How can expect me to trust you,
When all you do is lie and steal?
You say to me, “I love you.”
Those empathetic words tear me apart.
You never loved me for real.
You pretended, took the chance,
and broke my heart.
