Repeat
My life’s on repeat
The same melody stalking me blindly
The same song ringing throughout my confines
My monotonous song is tracking me like a huntress
I turn on the radio and there it is, always following. Following.
I sprint from the monotone voice and screeching beat
The people around me play like they can’t hear the meaningless lyrics
But… once the popularity dies I’m afraid I might miss it
Knowing the bridge and familiar chorus are like my safe haven
Although it feels like everyone around me is whirring to the sound
It’s like I’m in the eye of a hurricane and debris is spinning around me to a familiar tune
My life’s on repeat but I’m scared it’s just noise.
