From fitful nightmarish sleep
I awaken
My eyes unclose
Upright I sit
A touch to my head
Wet strands of hair glued to my face
Fearful images still ring clear
Bedsheets tossed
Pillows thrown to the floor
All evidence of a bad dream
My eyes slowly turn upward
Light streams in through my window
Beautiful gleam shines on
Fears suddenly dissipate
Now that I see the light
A beam of sunlight
Only millimeters from the crystal
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting for the light to strike
Light strikes
Colors fly
My room is filled with shine
There's no more to fear
For a new day has come

Oh...I meant not to touch your story's hope and optimism, and taint it with the grimness of my world...and frankly I don't believe I did, or can, for that matter, alter one's desire for a clean slate. =)

Beautiful job Authoress #1...it's a shame that not everyone can leave the horrors from the corners of there minds to rot alone in the past...rather they lug their dusty fears and grudges everywhere, and as these nightmares rule their lives like cancer and gnaw at them like acid, they lose touch with life, and hope.
