I promise
I’m in the grass on my knees
I tare off the grass, and
Wipe away the old leafs
It hurts to read your name
Your birthday and the other date
I run my fingers across the marble
Flowers lay right where
I put them last time
I close my eyes and see
My personal heaven
I see the light in your eyes
The warmth in your smile
I feel myself still
In your arms
And my heart skips beats
I remember your voice
The most familiar sound
Fading slowly from my memory
I can’t say your name out laud any more
I’ll always think of
The life we would have had
In my dreams just one more
Glance in your eyes
One more time in your arms
Once more time you’ll look
Back at me
My heart is in the casket with you
I promise you
We’ll walk hand-in-hand in heaven
I promise.
