Burning bright
But burning out
Her light dims
Her soul flickers
Grieving over someone she never had
She smiles a twisted frown
Disguised to be something more
Lies leaning into shame
Hopeless anger
Blind just like her
Placed on paper for all to see
To be misinterpreted
Just like dreams
Just like memories
Frozen in place like a statue in mourning
She falls to your feet
On knees she cries
She begs for you to loved her
To care even the slightest bit
To realize that her smile
Only shows for you
