Damaged Goods
She gave him everything she had
for him to just throw her away
pushing her aside like an
insignificant object
For days, weeks, and months she cried
letting her sorrow fly into the
untamed wind
And every time he sat and watched
to proud to stand by her side
thinking to highly of himself to
even think about her feelings
And every time her wounds
started to heal
she would burst them open again
letting her pain flow down on paper
using up her ink
Eventually she found herself again
but even now, as you look into her puppy dog eyes
you can see the scars left on her
and you hope one day she’ll completely heal
