I remember the sun soaked
day
when I saw that shriveled bleeding
mass upon the highway
when I took out my heart in your
shiny new red corvet
when I took out my heart to show to you
when I took out my heart
to give to you
when you took my heart,
snatched it right out of my hands
and tossed it out the window
rolled down in summer heat
I remember that sun soaked
day
when that shriveled mass kept beating
as the vultures descended down
vague threats tossed upon the
blood stained highway
hungry eyes feasting on my
still beating, bleeding heart
when you laughed
and kept on driving
when the hatred and hurt bubbled up
clashing with the tears in the empty spot
where my heart used to be
I remember that shiny new red corvet
pictures of you and me sitting
blissful
on that shiny new red hood
... that breeze...
glued to my padded wall
glued to your metal bars
glued to that shriveled bleeding
mass upon the highway
