Battle of Wills
Time passes,
but we stand still.
Unable to move,
we're in a battle of wills.
I've tried to fix this,
I've tried to compromise.
But being right is
not always being wise.
Neither of us is wrong,
we're both right, you see.
And neither of us will budge
until our lips have tasted victory.
There's no point to our words,
our words that hurt the other.
Our stinging, biting words that
drive us from each other.
Let's call it a truce,
and put the pain aside.
Let's untangle the webs
to which we've been tied.
