Change
One raving winter day
When the whip of the snow
 Muted the world,
 A knock, sharp, staccato
 Unfroze my door

 Peeking out the window,
 I saw it,
 Back again

 Change

 “I’m different” it said
 “Different from the last time”
 “I changed”

 Doors locked, curtains closed
I waited for it to leave
 Not ready yet
 Never ready for Change

 Years pass
 And one silent winter day
When the branches quivered and wondered,
 “Is it over?”,
 I peek out my window,
 And hope,
 That Change will

 Knock
