"If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." --Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis

Lines mark the sides:
One girl alone on one
The others on the other, ignorant;
She tries to stand firm.
Her body does, her heart doesn’t
When does she become
Truly and wholly loved by others,
Who isn’t her mother or father?
An empty and beautiful building,
It stands right outside her window;
It merely houses
A homeless man and his son.
The building is strong:
What’s inside lies weak.
This one girl reaches out
Her feeble hand
Willing to aid, though she yet
Needs to be mended;
She brings the man and boy
To an empty room in the building
And together they
BECKON THE WALLS TO FOLD
DICTATE WHAT ITS COLORS SHOULD BE
AND TINGE IT WITH
THEIR NEWFOUND HAPPINESS.
THEY CREATE SOMETHING NEW—
SOMETHING THEIR OWN.
CREATED FROM A ROOM LEFT BARE
Created by bare people…
THEY DON’T FEEL ALONE.
