There was a time when life was simple,
When we believed in fairy tales,
And when we had friends that were true,
Before we knew what spite was,
And before we were spiteful,
Especially to the ones who mattered most.
There was a time when life was simple,
When magic was commonplace,
And when we could love simply and truly.

Before we lost the ones we loved,
Lost the ones we thought we knew.

Before I lost you.
