Look through the eyes of permanence;
Having ever more feelings of neglect.
Why are we brought to Life?
Why are we going to Die?

Life brings joy to many.
Death brings sadness to all.
Why is Life not constant?
Why is Death so enduring?

We’re all just waiting,
Waiting for an answer.
Have any of us wondered why?
Have any of us ever cared?

Life is a sign to us.
A sign that we never see.
Invisible to the naked eye,
Only seen in the dark.

Death is a sign to us,
A sign we always see.
Immortality it will bring,
Pain it will leave behind.

The author's comments:
I was inspired to write this one day while staring at the clock,watching the second hand move slowly, and slowly. I was thinking about death and how it applies to our everyday life, and the clock made me realize that every time the second hand strikes someone dies.
