How did we miss the signs?
Thirteen innocent soldiers shot and dead
And many lay injured in a hospital bed
How did the government not see the signs?
Major Hasan, an army psychiatrist
One of our own kills so many and
We don’t know if he acted alone
Hasan, a Muslim sent emails to a
Radical Islamic cleric and the government
Thought it had no merit
Hasan was clearly belligerent and
Defended his Muslim faith
And his views were known by his classmates
Still no one saw the signs
Why could we not road between the lines?
