Bottomless

I remember it all so clear,
We were at the wet, wooden dock
And all I could wonder was,
“How deep is the water?”
At first I was as scared
As a elephant and a mouse,
But I decided that I should see
How bottomless the water was
I jumped in and I felt the
Water splash against my body,
I could not breathe
Then I felt a hand on my arm
And then I was free
