Gladiatorial End

Shadowed feeling
Darkened day
Shadows of those I shall slay
Bloody feeling
Bloody sounds
Organs falling to the ground
The crowd does cheer
And chant for death
But he asks
He pleads
He wants to live
I look above
I look to him
Great Caesar, lord and master he
He shakes his head
His thumb points down
The man cries out
His blood, his sweat
It soaks into me
Through armor, flesh, muscle, bone
His blood, his life
It soaks into me
Reminding me of my own
Gone
Dead
His days are over
This mighty warrior, fighter, he
Faced against lions, jaguars, blood hungry men,
To fall, to die, to end
At the word of one, soft, clean, robed man.

The author's comments:
I am in a Latin class and school, and my teacher has been teaching us about Roman life. Including gladiators. I have studied Romans and gladiators before, and decided to write a poem about them.. and yes, it is bloody, but that goes with the game.
