Children of the Night
The children cry for help
None listen
None come
They leave them in the darkness
The children come out at night
Scurrying around the town
In filth and rags
In search for food and love
At night, back at their home
They cry themselves to sleep
They yell to the people above,
“Mother, Daddy, please take us in!
We will never leave our home again!”
But still no one comes
No one to love them
Holds them
And to help them though those tough times
They cry themselves to sleep once again
They go into town every night
Stealing what they need
Looking for a home
They cry into the darkness of the once loved,
“Mother, Father please take us in!
We will never leave our home again!
We want you to love us, to help us!
We will never leave our home again”
Still no one comes
They go back to their home
To cry themselves to sleep…
