A Fathers Love is powerful
with the warm embrace
to being playful

with the kiss on the cheek
to the tickling of our feet

A Fathers Love is powerful indeed
with teaching us how to ride a bike
to teaching us how to drive with speed

with the tears on your shoulder
to making me bolder

A Fathers Love is powerful forever
with all the support he gives
to giving my heart a cure

with all the smiles
through all the trials

A Fathers Love is powerful
because he's everything
a daughter would want to be

Three simple words to sum it all up
Is that i Love you because you never gave up.

You don't necessarily have to change it, if that's what you feel. It simply struck me that way, as someone who was reasonably traumatized after such an experience!

that is true but when i wrote it. it was to my dad. and the "your" is him. it was like i was talking to him.. but i guess i should change that.

This is beautiful, summing up almost perfectly why a daughter SHOULD have a father. I say "almost" because I don't believe a father should cry on his daughter's shoulder.
