She walks along
The beach.
Slowly, for now she has a cane.
She used to run,
Her feet sinking into the sand.
Running while he laughed.
She used to lie,
On a towel, grainy and damp,
Lie while he lie with her.
She used to smile,
Her teeth gleaming, and white,
Smile while he smiled.
She walk along
The beach.
Slowly, for now she walks alone.
