They hide,
Like weeping shadows,
Eyes dark and gaunt,

Already,
Old beyond years,
Dealing with such,
Which they won't heal,

Already,
They are banned,
Turned away to the dust,
Crushed,

Already,
No one cares,
Because of an action,
Because they were scared,

Already,
Lost their chance,
Because of a stupid mistake,
But a mistake none the less.

The author's comments:
Inspired by an experience that happened yesterday at school. In my school, eighth graders, chose to do something irreasponsible with their time.
