Can you remember the first time that we kissed?
And the first time that we danced?
It was so late, close to midnight
And I gazed at you entranced
I remember knocking on your door
Palms sweaty and breathing low
And in my arms, still smelling sweet
Were twenty red roses, vivid through the snow

Twenty red roses for our first date
And another twenty for the second time we met
The third and fourth left your room piling up
And more on the fifth to prove I didn’t forget
Twenty red roses I’d bring you each time
And I’d kiss you “I love you” for every flower
And you’d wait at the door for each delivery
And after have a secret smile for more than an hour

And now here I am with my next twenty roses
I’m sorry I haven’t been here in a while
I’ve missed you so dearly but visiting has been tough
It’s hard to come when I can’t see you smile
But I’ll give you these roses because I still love you
And it’s about you that to my friends I still rave
Even though each time I come it makes me cry
Because I’m putting the twenty red roses on top of your grave

Shoot for the moon and even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.

This poem touched my heart. Really it did. I read it, thinking "Oh how adorable" And then the last line hit me very hard. It's a moving piece and I hope you write more.
