What happened
Support beams of rubber,
Foundations of sand.
One second can throw you
Into a hole of insanity.
You sit in your kitchen
As you notice your house sinking.
You sink deeper and deeper,
And your breathe slips away from you.
You lunge and stretch
But you could not get it back.
Shapes and sounds encase you.
Laughs from the bowls of Satan
Echoes in your head.
The sun disappears from view,
And darkness surrounds you.
You cover your ears from the
Mad laughs of demons.
Then like a blast of a spring breeze,
Everything returned to normal.
The sun blazed,
And the house was sturdy.
You’re on the floor
With your hands on your ears,
And your face on your knees.
Tears rolled down your face
As your notice no one is around.
You remember,
Your father left when you were five,
Your mother was working her second job,
Your sibling was around the corner in secret.
Loneliness filled your heart,
Sadness overflowed your soul.
Suddenly you’re back in that hole
In complete darkness.
And the only thing you ask yourself is,
“What happened to my life?”
