"Maybe my words, are not as good, as those on the page, quoted on the lips, but they are, my words, my soul, my life, and they are how they are, quoted or not."- Exert from a poem of mine titled "My Words"

Memories

Drowned by memories
What a way to go
You struggled
To keep your head up
To keep moving forward
They come in tidal waves
Forcing you under
Pushing the last breath
From your tired lungs
They fill up your entire
Being
Til there’s nothing left
Your mind cant function
Images flash across your eyes
You begin to fall
No one to catch you
To keep you up
Fill the past with
The present
Even the future
All alone with your
Memories
Until your at the bottom
Of the ocean
No life left in you
What was it exactly
That made you
Give up?

The author's comments:
Memories can sometimes be overwhelming, especially the ones you dont wish to bring back up to the surface. The poem is pretty much just memories finally becoming too much to handle, finally letting them take over, but what was it, which memory was really so bad that it made you give up?
