I Once Was Told "I Love You"
A well of tears stream down my face,
I miss the sound of warm embrace.
I once was told "I love you,"
 and I once believed it.
Now I know it's not true,
 Don't think he could commit.

The river flowing out my eyes,
I miss the look of sunsets in the skies.
I once was told "I'll never leave you,"
 and I once believed it.
Now I know it's not true,
Cuz like all men, he split.

 Snot pouring out my nose,
I miss being the one you chose.
I once was told "I love you,"
and now I know the truth.
 Now I'm the one who,
Breaks the hearts of the youth.

 Because I was once told,
and my heart was so sold,
on the phrase "I love you."
 And I once believed,
now I know I was deceived.
 Love is what we had.
 And now I know,
 Love is all a show,
 Someone wanting to be wanted,
 and someone who wants them,
but only for a short while.
