big kids don't always know
why did the light fell?
my sister asked me.
she is
five
so
of course i
knew
that
i didn't have to
understand.
what? i asked
anyway.
why
did
the
LIGHT
fell?
she repeated.
i asked her what again.
why did the light FELL?
she cried impatiently.
i was big, i was supposed to know every thing.
but she was five.
it was
o.k.
for her
to say things that didn't
make
sense.
but i was big, i was supposed to understand!
i didn't.
why did the light fell? i asked her.
yeah, she replied.
i looked at her.
i didn't know.
i don't know, i told her.
oh, she said.
oh.
i didn't know.
