Be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars. You have a right to be here.

Summer sunshine
Full of warmth
Harmony as the breeze
Tickles green grass
Playfully in friendship

Come nightfall
Come wintertime
Come the darkness
And the frost
Thieves of light

Robbing the grass
Leaving it dry, brown
And to be beaten
By harsh winds
Laughing, whispering

Uncovering the truth
Of a friendship
Never real, never there
The garish sun so
Talented

At spinning these lies
Hiding them
Making them seem
Beautiful
So pure

People always say the night hides everything in shadows, but the Sun, too, obscures things. It makes them beautiful, too good to be true. Truth hurts, doesn't it?
