Stuck
I’ve got chains,
You’ve got freedom.
Search for a lie
That I can believe in.
I want to be wherever you are
But I’m tied on these strings,
Strings are only so far.
You’re the free of the wind,
You’re the blue of the sky.
And I wish I could see things
Beyond my own eyes.
If given the choice of where to be,
I hope someday
You’ll choose near me.
For you are the truth,
That nobody knows
And I have to stay here,
To learn,
To grow.
My feet remain tacked to this ground,
So I hope that you’ll still come around.
I could beat myself up
For the rest of my life,
But that won’t bring you back
And it won’t make things right.
For you are the freedom
You are the clouds.
And my feet have always been stuck to the ground.
