My Family
The Rainforest
 My family is the deceiving Amazon rainforest;
 Beautiful and calm on the outside, but not so much when you look in
 My father is the cunning, jungle jaguar;
 Solitary and wise, lashing out when you least expect it to defend what he cares for
 My mother is the powerful, river anaconda;
 Crushing and smothering you with her excessive demands and undying love
 My sister is the talkative, treetop parrot;
 Loud and persistent, never getting that sometimes it’s a little too much
 My brother is the playful, canopy monkey;
 Jumping and leaping from branch to branch, without a care in the world
 My cat is the lazy, hanging sloth;
 Sleeping and eating, existing to do nothing more than be adorable
 And I, I am the misplaced Arctic wolf;
 Howling and crying at the night sky, wishing she could belong
