Voices echo
but I don't hear it
lights flash
but I don't see it
a candle burns
but I don't smell it
the drink is sweet
but I don't taste it
her hand is soft
but I don't feel it
my ears long for one voice only
my eyes yearn for one sight only
my nose longs for one scent only
my mouth yearns for one taste only
my hand longs for one feel only
he left me here
with no will to hear
he let me be
with no desire to see
he left me well
with no reason to smell
he left me blind
with no taste to find
he left me bold
with no hand to hold
