Enjoyable Company
Thick musty air encloses the room.
Only silhouettes give identity.
Shoulder to shoulder, people move closer.
Blaring through the black Bose boxes, a noise.
Piercing, all ears ring.
Ingesting, to transform into someone you know you’re not.
Scanning for someone you know is not there.
Strangers become temporarily best friends
Until the next song.
The hand moves hour after hour around,
And soon the sun emerges.
Dizziness continues as I turn over
Only to realize,
I’m alone, as the night before.
