Mortar Shells and Love's Hell
London Bridge is falling down
Falling down Falling down
Ashes fall like innocent snow
From the mortar blasts you hear no sound
Hide beside the dead and wish for their dark fate
While all around you blood forever stains the ground
The only atheist left in the steep trenches
Covered in comrade’s blood your own heart pounds
Take the dead man’s only weapon
The same kind of gun that stilled his heart
Run with it, dodging between the bodies
As a land mine goes off and rips a man apart
Blood rains down upon the soldier
In the end you fight for no one but yourself
Even as you fall, fall, fall down
You fight for no god within love’s hell
