Beauty is love, from the heart
Beauty is love, from a mother
Beauty is love, to live for another
Beauty is love, to give happiness to each other

Beauty is family, life’s greatest blessing
Beauty is family, being with your loved ones
Beauty is family, like a forest of trees
Beauty is family, hugging and feeling free

Beauty is character, it’s who you are
Beauty is character, nice or mean
Beauty is character, messy or clean
Beauty is character; it’s how you’re seen

Beauty is dreaming, reaching for the stars
Beauty is dreaming, using imagination
Beauty is dreaming, the biggest motivation
Beauty is dreaming, creating inspiration

The author's comments:
I was inspired to do this piece from another writing contest for English class. It was submitted but did not get through. I was surprised, because what I felt was something deep. how beauty isn't necessarily something that is on the outside. It could be family, love, character, and dreaming. I hope that people will understand the true meaning of beauty, and stop judging others by what is on the outside, such as: race, facial features, and materialistic things. I want people to be able to see the beauty of people on the inside.

I think that this is interesting.  Your use of rhyme pattern is pretty cliche.  But the repetition of the first "beauty is..." line was very clever pertaining to the topic.  The structure and order of the love, family, character, and dreaming were very well organized.  It definitely is true to life.  Great job

i agree.  it is SO true, in this society we liv in 2day.  Ppl only judge others by wha tis on the outside.  and i luved the ending.  it was vry pretty!  more true works like this can change the world!

Thanx!!  I really want people to feel that beauty is more than just what is on the outside!  This poem may be considered a bit amateur, but the meaning behind it is what I focused on!!
