I needlessly cue her-
She already knows what to do.
My hands grasp her mane
My legs grip her sides
Across the sand we fly
I can feel the rhythm
Cantering
One...two..three
One Two three
One-Two-Three
Then a change
One-two-three-four
Galloping across the vast beach.
I can hear her breath and see her sweat
In front of me her neck,
Outstretched like Seabiscuit's,
Leads to her ears,
Foreward turned
Ecstasy
Behind me
All my worry
