Somewhere off to
my right

splayed across
the page

are the emotions
I discarded

as I stared ahead
with an empty gaze

I could hear the
steady
drip.
drip.
as they fell to
the floor

like ink from
an upturned
bottle

thick,black
ink

the coldness
is better

the emptyness
is worth it

drip.
drip.

splattering onto
the floor

forming a shapeless
design

until the bottle
is almost

empty....
