If you looked inside a girl,
You would see how much she cries,
You would see the truths and lies,
You would see who she loves the most,
You would see her personal ghost,
You would see what she tries to forget,
You would see who she wishes she never met,
You would see who she wishes she could be,
You would see how badly she wants to be free,
You would see the pain she always hides,
You would see how she always has to choose sides,
You would see her, for who she really is,
You would see that all she wants to be is his.
You would see how hard it is to be her,
You would see the way that all the days blur,
You would see how hard she tries to stay strong,
You would see how hard she tries to belong,
You would see why she hates her past,
You would see how everything’s moving too fast,
You would see the pain she always feels,
You would see the truths she never reveals,
You would see the difference one word can make,
You would see all the nights she stayed awake,
You would see what it would take to make her better,
You would see all these words she wrote, down to the letter.
You would finally understand,
What it’s like inside a girl.
