I'd like to flood the streets of your heart
with everything I cannot say.
The waves would rise high enough
to drown skyscrapers,
and from my perch in the sky
I would raise you up to me,
and we'd swing our feet over the newborn lake
while the bleary-eyed city lights
blinked at us from beneath the water.
From there, I would swim you
through every memory of us together,
and praying throughout
that when all had been seen,
you would not laugh, but smile
and take my hand in yours.
