"Money cannot buy happiness but it can buy choices." - Mrs. Renyolds (Cosmetology)

Listen, Listen to the sound of still breathing
Of all the little hearts beating
Listen as the blank room grows darker
Remember how it was once filled with laughter
Strain your ears, try to capture a sound
With nothing but stillness and silence around
Wait for darkness, for it to change to light
As it struggles in this small world with might
But yet, it's silence that captures me whole
burning its structure deep within my soul
Giving me nothing but darkened sight
with fear, I fear nothing more than light
I sink deeper, closer to the cold ground
Listening to nothing but silence; the sound
As then the voice becomes softer
and yet, I can no longer hear laughter
My ears reach out, listening...
and straining....
Silence.

Your welcome :) And I know you've commented on some of my work already, but I would really appreciate feedback on some of my newer poems, if you are interested in perhaps checking them out? Again, great job on this poem, and I can't believe you haven't been published yet, you are a very good writer!

Thank you very much. =]

I actually wrote this in English class for our poetry section and I had to read this one in front of the whole class.

Wow!

What I liked: It grabbed my attention right from the beginning and it kept it all the way through to the end. It was very descriptive, and it made me feel like I was getting the whole picture without you writing the whole picture, if that makes any sense.

Great Job!
